Probably a great starting point for a non-traditional student looking for a career change.

I got a copy of this book from a friend of mine because I am currently applying to medical schools as a "gap year" student. Overall, I think it is a decent overview of the entire process. What makes this book unique is that it is peppered with the author's personal experiences. The other resource I purchased seemed rather generic in comparison because it was written by someone who is a professional consultant; she talked about what she likes to see on a med school application. If I would have known about this book earlier in my application process, I would not have wasted an extra $200 in useless products and services.

This book is a great "how-to" guide and reference for anyone considering a career as a physician. As a physician myself, I know that it can be difficult to navigate the medical school application and interview process. This book boils it down to the essentials. It is a quick read with many pearls of wisdom shared by someone who has been on both sides of the application process and understands the in's and out's. Despite being so concise, it is also very thorough, touching on every aspect of the application process. A wonderful resource for someone considering a rewarding career in medicine.

Excellent! Finally a well written manual for pre-med students!

This is an excellent book! I am a current medical student and was looking for something to help a pre med student I am mentoring. I love this book because it is very to the point and an excellent springboard to build upon. Most other books are too detailed and convoluted...and expensive. This is written with pithy erudition...gives you the pertinent information in very effective and efficient English. Excellent! High recommend for students interested in pursing medical school...this tells you everything you need to know.
