As Lead Pastor of DC Metro Church, Dr. David Stine is known for his practical biblical teaching, his visionary leadership, and his heart to impact the D.C. Metropolitan area. David’s authenticity and his ability to communicate the truth of God’s Word in a humorous, dynamic, and revelatory manner helps people understand the Bible and how to apply its teachings to their everyday lives. David is passionate about people coming to know Christ, getting planted in God’s house, and becoming transformational leaders who work together to build a God-first culture throughout the D.C. Metro area. He is honored to be teaching, training, and coaching church leaders and future church planters because he believes that the local church is the hope of the world and that we are meant to be relationally connected with other leaders. Shortly after coming to Christ in college, David knew there was a call on his life to full-time ministry and sensed God leading him to seminary at Regent University, where he earned his Masters Degree (M.A.) in Practical Theology and his Doctoral Degree (D.Min) in Leadership. David met his future wife Taryn at Louisiana State University where they both majored in Business and were involved in a campus ministry together. After graduation, they were advancing in their respective careers, but the deepest desire of their hearts was to "do something great for God" together. Today they are parents to four growing children and loving their call to full-time ministry at DC Metro. Finally ... A Simple Way To Hear From God

I'm on Day 17 of the workbook and spending at least 30 minutes a day making contact with God. I don't know how to describe the clarity with which God has spoken to me every single time. Writing a letter to God and then writing what God is saying back to you has been a mind blowing experience. I don't know how else to describe it. Pastor Stine writes in his book that it may be difficult to distinguish our voice (what's rolling around in our head) from God's voice and what he's really wanting to speak to us. I fully expected that to be the case, but I'm experiencing just the opposite. I know the words are from God because they are completely counter to what I wanted to hear in some cases (yet fully aligned to the Word), comforting on the days when I'm down, specific in terms of who to share with, and validated when I'm obedient to share as directed. It's amazing when you share something and watch as it affirms for that person, something God has been speaking to them. I look forward to my daily contact with God and to ensure I don't miss it, I put it on my calendar like all of my other meetings. I just ordered a copy for a friend, and am sure I will be sending many others.

Dr. David Stine has selected 40 passages of Scripture that will help you interact with God through a daily five step model. I have been walking with God for 20 years, but this workbook gave me fresh excitement to position myself before God daily and challenged me to create more space in my life to hear from Him! It reminded me that there is no other voice I would rather hear and any reprioritizing I need to do to hear Him more clearly and more frequently is absolutely worth it.

Essential Reference of Spanish-Colonial Coin Collectors

If you are interested in Spanish-Colonial coins and cobs, this book is essential. The book was published in 2002, which means prices are not current. However, it's the detailed descriptions, photos, and history of the coins that makes it so valuable. Even Krauses most recent coin books don't have current prices. And unlike Krauses other guides, this one covers all dates for all coins, up until approximately the date each country gained it's independence from Spain.

No Philippine coins

Contrary to what is stated in the editorial review, this catalog does not include Philippine coins during the spanish colonial period. In fairness to the authors it is stated in the foreword that this catalog deals with Ibero-American coinage. Aside from that omission, this book is worth buying in the sense that if all you collect is Spanish/Portugese Colonial Coins you won't have to buy the Other Standard Catalogs that are divided into centuries as this catalog spans the entire timeline.

Needs an update, improved photography and a new printer

647 pages of dated information. The book is formatted much like the Red Book. Published in 2002, it's pricing would be as valuable as a 2002 Red Book, i.e. not very useful in a 2013/14 market. The quality of print is significantly substandard and many of the photographs are of poor quality. This may be due to limited availability of high quality photographs, but is an area that needs work. I am a neophyte researcher in this arena, but it does appear that a significant amount of the information is inaccurate, particular mintage numbers. If Krause could update the book to reflect the current market, improve the photography and find a decent printer the tome would be of much greater value.

Perceive - the perfect next step in the Katon University Series

This book is the 2nd in the Katon University Series and is the perfect next step. Andrea is continuing to make readers want more while deepening the story line. I really did not want to put this book down, and finished it in less than a day. Yes I thought this was a wonderful book! Just in case you weren't sure. Andrea's writing has gotten stronger with this series. Although it is a YA book, it is perfect for anyone who believes that it is possible to have magic living among us.
If you haven't read book 1, get that one first to get the full effect. There are obviously things that start in book 1 that are fleshed out in book 2 that you might miss if you just start with book 2.

The love story between Nicole and Austin continue to blossom in this book as well as Nicole's powers. Or I should say, as Nicole learns how to draw out her powers and use them as they were meant to be used.

There is a little more "darkness" in this book than in the first but I believe it is fine for the YA reader as there isn't detailed evil or horrors, blood or gore. This "darkness" is part of how Nicole learns more of her powers, how she can use them and grow. But Nicole is part of the light so the darkness does not over take her or those she loves.

I can't wait to get book 3, Observe, that is coming out in a few weeks. I want to see what else Nicole and Austin find as Nicole learns more of her blossoming powers; her "interesting" family members, both alive and "semi" alive; as well as what trials she will be put through as she learns more of the Aretes and Tarians and just what they need her for.

I did receive my copy of Perceive as a gift, but had to share my thoughts as soon as I had finished.

A Goosebump Raising Adventure

Totally creepy! I love the way the magic causes so many problems for our characters. Also, Nicole's character continues to grow as her ability to channel increases and the truth about who she is comes out in the open. A ghostly woman claims Nicole is destined to save the Aretes, but her own parents want to destroy her kind. When the toll to gain the means to end something her ancestor created and right a horrible wrong becomes to high, she wonders who she should trust.

This book kept me guessing until the end. And beyond. Even though Nicole gains what she's after, she has to wonder what path it has sent her on. I still don't know who is telling the truth and what other craziness could happen. The spores and giant tentacle in the brain were so intense. It was also great to see some elements from the novellas in the series to come back into play to aid Nicole. Also, she and Austen make an awesome couple, but I feel things worked out for them too easily. I wonder what will happen next to test their relationship. If you don't mind having some pretty bizarre dreams and some spine tingling adventure, you'll like this book.

The Story Continues with Nicole and Austin

Nicole and Austin continue in the 3rd book of the Katon University series. Nicole continues to work on her channeling and travels to Moses Lake, WA to work with a elderly gentleman, Albert. The spiders follow her and she sees the old woman again. There is something the woman wants her to do and Nicole believes her. While at Moses Lake, Nicole finds out about a meteor that was there and then disappeared. Her power has something to do with that meteor. And the family that lives nearby is getting sicker by the day

Will Nicole complete what the old woman wants her to do? Will Nicole learn the secrets that her parents and the old woman hide?

Both Andrea and Austin continue to grow in this story and so do their feeling for each other. Andrea Pearson has woven a wonderful but frightening story about two young people who really don't know what life has in store for them. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

About the Author
Currently teaching animation and character design at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Nancy has worked for nearly thirty years as a supervising animator, director, character designer, and storyboard artist. A graduate of the Character Animation Program at the California Institute of the Arts, Nancy worked in development and as a supervising animator on several Disney features including A Goofy Movie, Hercules and Treasure Planet. She was nominated for an Annie award in 2000 for storyboarding Little Angelita for Disney and won a Cine Golden Eagle in 1984 for her personal film Your Feets' Too Big. Nancy is a member of the National Cartoonists Society and the Australian Black and White Cartoonists Club. In recent years she has illustrated two children's books, Duffy and the Invisible Crocodile and Basil Bigboots the Pirate for Australian writer Patricia Bernard in 2004, and taught at the Savannah College of Art And Design.

Great for the Character Designing Newbie...PLUS!

For the newbie to character design, this book is a must! It introduces the idea of the storyboard while also walking you through the process of designing characters. It goes into the character line-up, a concept with which I was not familiar. And since I was in a graduate-level class and what they assumed were basic concepts were not taught, this book helped me in developing a final project...a character line-up.

For the person who has dabbled in designing character for as long as he/she can remember, this helps in becoming more professional in the process! So, it's a great book for all who want to begin the learning process as well as those who are pretty good at it already! Great buy!

Commentary about People, for People

Ben Witherington's work exemplifies the goals of good socio-rhetorical commentary--describing people, where they live, how they talk, what they do. The tools he uses help us fill in the gaps that scripture leaves out and give us a fuller picture of the New Testament world, especially Corinth and Paul's church there. Because I am a pastor whose job is a people job, his work makes my job easier and helps me to focus on the message for my people well.

I am grateful for his description of a church fragmenting in confusion, and how the Gospel Paul preaches can heal it!

Walking the Streets of Corinth

I really appreciated this commentary greatly. It helped we to get a feel for 1st Century Corinth and to understand the motivations behind the actions of the Corinthian Church. It was a significant reference too in a post graduate essay on "Discernment in the Corinthian Church".
